End of an era today. One of the partners at our firm, who let me do work experience there when I was a slip of a 16 year old, retired (slightly reluctantly, it must be said - I suspect his wife is keener on the idea than he is!).
We all had a VERY nice meal to say farewell to him. This was my ice cream.
My friend Amy got married today. I've known Amy since we were both 12, and we've never lost touch. I was so happy to see her marrying her absolute soulmate this afternoon.
I am inordinately pleased with my new wrap dress, so I made this month's self-portrait a longer-than-head shot. I'm not even sure why I like the dress so much apart from the fact that it's very comfortable and I think the print is pretty.
Another beautiful day. We went to a big park nearby and the children raced round in the sunshine. I took this photo towards the end of the walk - the sun was going in and Tab and Zac were getting tired.
Today I took Tabitha and Zac to the little park down the road while Husband watched football (apparently it was an excellent result - Liverpool won four-nil). It was a lovely, bright, breezy day and just about all the children I know were at the park with their parents. I took this photo of Tabitha peeking out of the toddlers' playground and wondering if she'll brave the Big Kids' Bit.
We had a girls' night in at my friend Denise's - she had made yummy chilli with nachos, and also this wonderful array of Comic Relief-inspired fairy cakes.
Slow news week. Have updated my screensaver at work with this photo that Leah sent me of Dangermouse's cheery little face - only after I'd uploaded it did she point out that it's a photo of a badge which she was wearing on her left boob. Hilarity ensued. I changed the screensaver to one of the kids again...
We had a tea party for my father in law. The children were very excited about Granddad's birthday - the cake decoration is their doing, as are the multiple bowls of crisps! Father in law was very pleased with his scarf, his other presents and his cake, and a nice day was had by all.
We went to Ikea, and for some reason the wooden pretend bottom in the "look how often and rigorously we test our chairs!" display made me laugh a lot, so I took a photo.
It's my father-in-law's birthday this week and we are seeing him on Sunday for a birthday tea. Being as it's the year of the handmade present, I'm making him a throatwarmer/scarf thing. This is its beginnings today.
I asked her to smile for the camera as she bounced about on the sofa, having just got dressed. She agreed to smile but she didn't fancy looking at the camera...
